West Dorset’s broken signs: Part 2. Lorry going to slaughterhouse to blame at Gore Cross?
WRECKED signs at Gore Cross may have been flattened by a lorry, according to Dorset County Council.
A spokesman for the council highways team said: “From what we can find out, it was a refrigerated articulated lorry that had missed its turning to Normans slaughterhouse in Bradpole, and was turning around.
“The signs were hit during the manoeuvre.
“We will try and trace the driver responsible, and claim from his insurance. We will replace them ASAP. We will check with the Police for any reports.”
The council spokesman was responding to the article posted below on this site, West Dorset’s broken signs: Part 1.

Well, who could have a beef with that? Provided that no one is telling porkies and behaving like an absolute ham. Obviously the driver couldn’t find the joint so choosing not to run round like a headless chicken he gave his chosen route the chop and, rather than follow the herd like lambs to the slaughter, find his own way.
