Revived: Dorset tunes of the 1820s

Tim Laycock and Colin Thompson present Benjamin's Book

BASED ON on a recent chance discovery of an 1820’s manuscript book of fiddle tunes from the Blackmore Vale, acclaimed local folk musicians Tim Laycock and Colin Thompson have put together a new musical show and are touring it around the Artsreach circuit.

Tim and Colin’s show, Benjamin’s Book, named after the manuscript’s author Benjamin Rose, invites people to join them in an Alehouse for an evening of storytelling, folksong, puppetry and local history. Tim Laycock sings, plays concertina, melodeon, flute and guitar, and Colin Thompson plays violin, viola and guitar, breathing life once again into old Dorset songs.
