AFTERNOON Tea by Broadwindsor School, and a Tipsy Monk by Donna and John Heys, won the scarecrow competition at the annual Broadwindsor Fun Day.
The theme was Merrie Old England.
The judges were Sarah Champion (above left) and her sister Liz Studley. Their late father, Leonard, wrote a history of Broadwindsor. He was also famous for his buttonholes, which is why the scarecrow judges were given ones to wear.
The event was a great Dorset success.
Teas were served by (from left) Ann Wood, Chris Chubb and Val Swan.
The opening parade was led by Broadwindsor Royal British Legion standard bearer Sam Trott.
There was entertainment from Stompin’ Dave, Punch and Judy man Vic Banks, Bablyon morris dancers and Mr Hocus Pocus the magic man.
Sideshows included Splat the Rat, Roll-a-Penny, human fruit machine, tombola, plate- smashing and skittles. Here Chris Sewell has a go.
Any profits will be split between village organisations.
