FOUND this on tumblr with the comment “Dorset knows lol”

What I can’t work out, from looking at the wall, is where this mock sign is supposed to be. It looks tantalisingly like West Bay, but could it be Lyme Regis? A strange question, I know, but I am genuinely curious…

Does Chav stand for “Council House and Violent”;
and those are nearly always scum. No aspirations, no job, living off the state, the girls have about eight kids each by a different father.
No manners and always low lifes.
So, who has chosen the word chav? Very interesting this is.
I understand chav as the opposite of posh, from a German point of view.
but maybe any English native speaker knows better?

The original sign (in West Bay) was on Bridport Radio and later modified in photoshop and widely disseminated by me. You can find some real beauties from the world of local signage here Wip Woppers
